Portraiture
One-on-one connection enables me to interpret and reveal what I love about my subject. I meet once with my subject to take photographs for reference.
Thematic series were produced based on my curiosity about perception. A few thoughts: what makes a portrait interesting to a viewer who doesn’t know the subject; is there beauty in an aging face; and how much can be subtracted without loss of identity?
Portraiture was my main focus until 2015. Below are several of my favorites.
